Summary :
The power of poetry is that it gives vent to its own frailty. It is that same tortuous path that Mounir FATMI has managed to take with his video-murmur. PERSONNE N'EST SEUL RIEN N'EST SOLIDE (Octavio PAZ). "What if we all blindfolded our eyes with a black cloth and created another way of looking at things". And there we are, sailing on an ocean of long-winded computer images, on a stream of living, written, tactile or feverish substances. Nothing is really exposed, shapes are mirrored, they appear and fade out again into the darkness of nostalgia. "Here comes winter already", we shiver at the idea that the dreams we held as immortal will not blossom like old trees full of promise. All that is left for us is to enumerate the false sounds of memory, the outmoded spectacle of the past, blending with our present pain : photographs answer the call of memory, a market where misery and outdated rich dreams pile up, a tired sheep stands next to a copy of the Mona Lisa. (Marc MERCIER, in "Bref")
