The banal is the thing that charms him, supermarkets, breakfasts, earthenware dishes and pitiless skies like those of our trips to Greece, Portugal, Brazil or anywhere... To live/massacre the banal faster and faster, dizzily, like PICASSO saying that smokers smoke reality and not the cigarette, like we say "to smoke" one's breakfast, or the morning paper or even the words we exchange, in french. Until we smoke/massacre everything and then..."What does it all amount to ? Nothing, but it is better than what we have known until now."
