It is via the idea of passage that, for me, something essential takes shape – the result will be seven short poems, fleeting visions of China glimpsed, just barely seen or heard, always in motion.

A China of cyclists, of water carriers, of beggars and of schoolboys in Mao collars, conceived in seven tableaux in videographic writing which stretches time, plays with appearances and recreates landscapes. " It is the passage of the fixed image to the moving image, the moment when all changes from one impression to another, this famous slow movement which characterizes part of my work and which is at the same time both movement and near immobility... "
