Summary :
Gustavo Kortsarz made his film “PENISH” starting from a series of thirty-six black and white pictures taken from the top of a bridge showing the final passage of a barge (“péniche” in French) on the Saint-Martin canal in Paris.
These photographs were scanned and reworked with a computer. “Penish” is a film about transitions : from black and white to colour, from still pictures to moving ones, from figuration to abstraction. The whole thing is impregnated with an erotic backward and forward motion which is enhanced by the soundtrack composed by Catherine Marchand.
