Sailing for Geeks est un projet initié par Nathalie Magnan qui associe navigation sur la toile et navigation à la voile.
En 2005, dans le cadre de Fadaiat : liberté de savoir, liberté de mouvement, l’équipe de Sailing for Geeks 2 (artistes et activistes) tente de donner une représentation de ce qu’est réellement une frontière en explorant à la voile les routes migratoires entre l’Espagne et le Maroc. Il s’agit aussi de tester les technologies de contre-surveillance déployées à terre par l’équipe de Makrolab. Le film donne à voir la traversée de Tarifa à Tanger, l’épreuve du passage de la frontière, la rencontre avec les activistes marocains.
Le premier volet de Sailing for Geeks a eu lieu en Finlande, en 2004, à l’occasion d’Isea 2004 (symposium international sur les arts électroniques).

In 2005, during the event : "Fadaiat, freedom of knowledge, freedom of movement", the crew of "Sailing for Geeks 2" (artists and activists) try to give a representation of what a border really is, while exploring the migration roads between Spain and Morocco. They test the counter-surveillance technologies that are deployed on shore by the Makrolab team. The film shows the crossing from Tarifa to Tangier, the ordeal of crossing the border, the meeting with Moroccan activists.
The first part of "Sailing for Geeks" took place in Finland, in 2004, at the time of Isea 2004 (international symposium on electronic arts).
