Il s’agit d’une exploration. Un paysage se dessine petit à petit par un travelling continu, parcourant lentement le territoire. La caméra est fluide et accompagne les éléments d’un décor de fiction, par un jeu de mouvements impliquant le point de vue extérieur, mais néanmoins sollicité, du spectateur. Le film décrit un univers sensible et ponctué de scènes animées. Il se termine par un retour sur la première image créant ainsi une boucle temporelle et spatiale. Cette première étape du projet Out of space a été conçue suite à une résidence de recherche à l’atelier Graphoui à Bruxelles. Réalisée par l’équipe d’animation du collectif Octopus, cette oeuvre est une première expérimentation du mouvement et de l’image animée traditionnelle. Le son travaillé en collaboration avec Fred Chardin, designer sonore, est une première expérimentation de la notion d’environnement sonore.
It is an exploration. A landscape takes shape gradually by a continuous traveling, slowly traversing the territory. The camera is fluid and goes with the elements of a fiction background, by a set of movements involving the point of view, external but nevertheless solicited, of the viewer. The film describes a sensitive universe, punctuated by animated scenes. It ends with a return to the first image, thus creating a spatial and temporal loop. This first stage of the project Out of space has been designed following a research residency at the workshop Graphoui in Brussels. Performed by the animation team of the group Octopus, this work is a first experimentation of the movement and the traditional animated image. The sound, worked in collaboration with Fred Chardin, sound designer, is a first experiment of the concept of sound environment.
