Mickaël : "In Baghdad, the gardener of the Sultan sees death in the garden and runs to Samarkand to escape his doom. When the Sultan asks death why she frightened the gardener, she replies that he must have taken her surprise for a threat, for she was in fact surprised to see him that morning in Baghdad as she was supposed to take him that evening in Samarkand."
