Il y a quelques années, j’ai fait la découverte d’un film Super 8 tourné en amateur par mon grand père lors d’un voyage professionnel en Chine pendant la révolution culturelle de Mao Zhe Dong. Je me suis alors saisie de cet objet rare pour le montrer 40 ans plus tard sur ses lieux d’origine. Mon intention était de l’offrir au regard des personnes rencontrées au cours de mon voyage, de solliciter leurs réactions et de confronter ces images d’alors à celles de la Chine contemporaine. Mon questionnement et mon « enquête » évoquent à la fois la topographie et la mémoire des lieux de tournage, ainsi que la mémoire individuelle et collective.
Ce travail a pris la forme d’un film et d’un film et d'une installation en 3 écrans.

A few years ago, I discovered a Super 8 film shot as an amateur by my grandfather during a business trip in China at the time of the Cultural Revolution of Mao Zhe Dong. I then seized this rare object to show it 40 years later in its original place. My intention was to offer it to the eyes of people met during my journey, to seek their reactions and to compare these images of that time to those of contemporary China. My question and my "investigation" suggest both the topography and the memory of the shooting place, as well as individual and collective memory.
