L'autoportrait en noir et blanc de Véronique Sapin prend la forme d'une mosaïque composée d'extraits de ses vidéos sur lesquelles elle apparait. Dans la séquence initiale en zoom-in, émerge progressivement, dans un paysage vide et flou, la forme d'une femme tentant de se maintenir en équilibre sur une jambe, avant d'échouer. Cette approche graduelle permet de ne pas livrer d'emblée l'identité de l'artiste: la découverte de l'autre prend du temps, de l'attention. Le flou reflète sa réticence à une exposition trop frontale et sa préférence pour une manière de se présenter sans s'imposer. L'équilibre sur une jambe évoque l'effort constant nécessaire pour naviguer entre certitude et doute, force et vulnérabilité - des
polarités au cœur de son exploration artistique.
Dans la deuxième séquences qui s'étire jusqu'à la dernière image, l'artiste se replace dans la même position en équilibre. Cette oscillation entre équilibre et déséquilibre, entre chute et maîtrise, semble incarner la vision de l'artiste sur sa vie dans laquelle la persévérance est fondamentale.

Véronique Sapin's black and white self-portrait takes the form of a mosaic composed of excerpts from her videos in which she appears. In the initial zoom-in sequence, the form of a woman gradually emerges from an empty, blurred landscape, attempting to balance on one leg before falling. This gradual approach avoids revealing the artist's identity immediately: discovering the other requires time and attention. The blur reflects her reluctance to be too direct and her preference for a way of presenting herself without imposing herself. Balancing on one leg evokes the constant effort required to navigate between certainty and doubt, strength and vulnerability—polarities at the heart of her artistic exploration.
In the second sequence, which extends to the final frame, the artist returns to the same balancing position. This oscillation between balance and imbalance, between falling and mastery, seems to embody the artist's vision of her life, in which perseverance is fundamental.
