Summary :
A QUEL TITRE is above all a text to which found footage gives a rhythm.
These pictures have in common the expression of a fascination with decline and fall.
Man anticipates it, precipitates it, as if to nourish, in spite of himself, his memory of nothingness.
Documents on the second world war and footage from fiction films are filmed on a television screen.
That mixture of fiction and nonfiction shows that the authenticity of an image and its relation to historical truth is definitively compromised.
What still remains possible, is to consider the image as a simple addition to a commentary which commits the author to the meaning of what he is showing.
