Summary :
Since the end of the Cold War, the meanings linked to the words "East" and "West" have undergone a dramatic change. FORMER EAST / FORMER WEST is a 63-minute essay which analyses the changes in point of view of the people living in Berlin, a city which, until very recently, was divided between those two directions. Numerous street interviews define concepts such as household, nationality, history and liberty. This tape thus builds a complex view of the way Berliners define what they believe in and what they identify with.
