Summary :
The purpose of any ID card is to identify a person. But an ID card that is based on a photography as a source of identification is false from the beginning, because that photo refers to a particular moment and can’t be representative of the whole period of its validity. This digital video consists of images of my ID cards that slowly fade one to another in a endless loop through morphing. Society, the State and the institutions have always tried to establish the identity of the individuals. At the end of the 19th century, A. Bertillon established a system of IDs on the basis of seven body measurements, which has later been completed with fingerprints, the color of the eyes and photos (full-face and profile). That illusion that identity is something definite that can be established and captured was worsened by the computerization of whole ID system at the end of the 20th century, precisely one century after Bertillon had established it.
