Summary :
Around 18 months, the child comes into a phase of opposition, the "no" phase. This "no" is perceived as provocative or aggressive.Through different parents' accounts, we discover various attitudes towards this behaviour. During that phase, the parents' task is to offer a framework of structuring limitations to the child. Thus he will be able to integrate internal indicators to the rules of social life. The purpose for the child is also to identify his needs, and the parents have to help him identify the different sensations he experiences in the conquest of his independence and creativity. With the emotional support of his parents, the child can develop patterns of relationships where conflicts are acknowledged, negotiated and solved without destruction and with respect for everyone.
