Summary :
This video presents the reverse angle of the meeting of Marie-Georges Buffet who was the French Communist party’s candidate for the 2007 presidential elections. We hear the official speech, but it’s the audience that we see with, in the foreground, the artist’s parents.
The latter then had a discussion with their son on their political engagement from 1968 up to now. The retranscription of this discussion plays the role of subtitles.
This video made up of several voices tells us about past times, filiation, lost hopes, the failures of old ideologies and of their potential reconstruction in the form of new utopias
