Summary :
« Fréon » project feeds from its immediate environment; it is a frontal observation of sequential instants which are regulating our daily life… « fréon » is a dust filter, a vacuum cleaner, a sponge… Freon project came to life during summer 2004 in Strasburg. Gleize Thibault and Mihai Grecu, both artists from the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs of Strasbourg, collaborate on a video project. They elaborate a first script and create it one day at a time. They realise the first experiment in town, in its very heart where targets are ordinary buildings… or more in its periphery, in the industrial wastelands. Urban settings become a playground propitious for every declension. In this city, buildings have mammoth defences encrusted in the façades. Buildings look at each other in a bellicose way, it is a static jousting, a mating display. Great dark crosses streak some habitations… Ostentatious signs… Dark graffiti, slashes…
